CAPE MAY "LOST
WEEKEND"-- SEPTEMBER 7-9, 2001
Update 2-8-01:
"The
fireworks are hailin' over Little Eden tonight..."
...or at least over Cape May, New Jersey--the site of Nutley Half Century
Club's next exciting special event.
Unfortunately, you'll miss the fireworks 'cause this party's on the
less crowded, less expensive, less scorching hot and MORE DESIRABLE (cause
that's when we're all gonna be there!) weekend AFTER Labor Day,
2001--specifically, September 7 through 9.
The site is the
GRAND HOTEL, Oceanfront and Philadelphia Ave., Cape May, NJ 08204,(800)
257-8550 (www.grandhotelcapemay.com)
It's right on the ocean--a full service hotel with lounge,
restaurant, pool. In addition to the beautiful Cape May beaches and hotel
pool, there's great sightseeing and shopping in beautiful, historic,
Victorian Cape May.
Here's the deal:
you make your own reservations, or if you live nearby, drop by for
the day(s) or evening(s) and just "wing it." There are no plans or formal
arrangements outside of a Nutley banner in the sand on the beach.
You're just going out for the day, the night, or the weekend and
happen to run into some people your age from Nutley.
If the Grand is booked, a nearby alternative is the Montreal Inn,
(800) 525-7011.
When making room
reservations at the Grand Hotel, mention "Nutley Half Century Club" or
"Nutley High Reunion" for a possible discount. A block of rooms is being
held for us for a limited time, so call as soon as possible to guarantee
your rate and reservation.
Early birds get the special $109 per night rate (normally about 20% higher).
The Grand has "standard" rooms with 2 double beds and
mini-refrigerator, or you can request for the same rate (while available) an
"efficiency"--one double bed and sofa bed, plus refrigerator and cook top.
The Grand requires a one-night deposit of $109 to hold your room for
the duration of your stay. This
must be in the form of a mailed-in check or money order.
There is a 25% penalty if you cancel up to two weeks before your
check-in date; less than two weeks: good-bye deposit.
On the bright side, you only risk $27.25 for the privilege of
guaranteeing accommodations at a highly in-demand resort town at near-peak
season with your loved one(s) and dear old friends!
